Menstrual Blood Art by May Ling Su
Like my body painting, menstrual blood painting on paper is immediate and intuitive. Like red paint, blood is essentially iron oxide. The medium necessitates speed because blood dries fast without the benefit of an acrylic or oil base. Later on I use pen and ink to elaborate on the images that emerge from the blood.
